Course Description: This course examines the aesthetic rupture and political engagement found in contemporary literature, focusing on texts and authors from the the last four decades of the 20th century to the the beginning of the 21st century. It explores the relationship between literature and the visual arts, cinema, theater and popular music; gender and style trends; aesthetic challenges; postmodernist debates. The course also provides a critical analysis of Brazilian literature as well as a meta-critique of artistic production. Texts: HUYSSEN, A.
