Course Description: This course provides a study of statistics as it applies to social research. It examines he processes of obtaining, organizing, and data analysis produced by a quantitative research, especially survey research that involves the application of questionnaires to a sample of respondents. The course covers: descriptive statistics (the collection and organization of data, measures of central tendency, dispersion and asymmetry); measurement scale; statistical inference; introduction to probability theory; sample and population; numbers and rates; the use of computers in data analysis.
