Course Description: This course examines the notion of work, productivity, precariousness, and creativity in contemporary society. It focuses on youth cultures and their interface with new technology, consumption, and modalities of artistic, professional, and cultural expressions. Topics include: subjectivity; work and leisure in global capitalism; creativity and professionalism; creative ethos; search for well-being; network as a metaphor and new dimensions of communication; concepts of identity, uniqueness, and identification; transformations of everyday life.
