Course Description: This course analyzes the international trajectory of the United States in the context of North America. It explores the creation of the three sovereign nation states-- U.S., Canada, and Mexico-- and the historical evolution of their relationship. It compares their societies, public policies, and economies. This course also discusses immigration, the "latinization" of the U.S., power, drug trafficking, and national identity.
