Course Description: This course introduces theoretical and technical issues on how languages work and how you can make it work for you. It provides an overview of core concepts in linguistics and discusses how they relate to first language acquisition and to foreign or second language learning and teaching. The course gives an understanding of the usefulness of language analysis in language learning and teaching along with the role of language in the classroom. The course analyzes issues related to your own language learning and bilingualism.
