Course Description:
This course employs philosophical explanation to analyze specific moral issues that confront human society today. It studies both ethical theory and practical examples to analyze such issues as what makes something an ethical issue, how responsible one is for the well being of others, whether there are just wars, and what should be the basis of distributing social benefits and obligations. It also considers issues such as abortion, euthanasia, and punishment.
