Course Description: This course studies the differences between groups, organizations, and individuals, and what similarities they have. It explores how they transition from one to another, how they merge from an individual to a group, and formalize into an organization. The course focuses on the collective influence on individual behavior and task performance as well as the determinants and consequences of bystander intervention in emergencies. It also covers applying social psychology to the work setting, prejudice, group membership and rejection, implications and interventions, and the influence within groups.
