Course Description: This intermediate Chinese language course exposes students to vocabulary related to Chinese business language, the comparison of cultures, and introduces students to vocabulary related to the geography, customs and culture of Taiwan and China. Students are also introduced to Chinese slang and idioms. Upon completion of this course, students are able to understand main points of routine matters at work, school, and leisure. Students are also able to deal with most situations likely to arise while traveling in a Chinese-speaking area. Most importantly, by the end of this course, students are able to interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers possible.
