Course Description: The course is designed for students who have no Japanese language background. It develops basic communicative skills based on the fundamentals of grammar, vocabulary, conversational expressions, and Japanese culture and society. The first section covers pronunciation and dialogues about daily life. The course teaches 462 new words, and 56 basic daily sentences. The second section teaches students the difference between oral and written Japanese by studying oral dialogues and written articles. Teaching methods include a multimedia CD.
