Course Description: This intermediate Chinese language provides understanding of the higher level principals of reading and writing in the quickest time possible, and presents Chinese literature. Topics are taken from real life experiences and lead students to make discussions on the world’s changing scenes and trends. Vocabulary and grammar are introduced to students based on the topic of each lesson. The text book consists of 12 lessons and 3 articles of 1000-to-1500- characters with reading comprehension practice and discussion activities. Each lesson begins from a lesson text with traditional and simplified character versions. Then, vocabulary, example sentences, grammar, syntax practices, discussion activities, composition writings, and supplementary materials are introduced. There is one supplementary reading text for every four lessons so that students can review what they have learned. The discussion activities are designed for students using vocabulary and syntax to do some oral practice and presentation.
