Course Description: Taking the relationship between human and nature as the basic research project, this course carries out theoretical studies and discussions about social, economic, political, and cultural issues caused by environmental problems via in-depth philosophical way of thinking, provides a fully renewed understanding about the position of man in the natural world and the intrinsic value of Nature, and investigates the inherent relationship between the development of man, society, economy, culture and science and technology and that of natural environment, in order to expound a brand new and more scientific world view and methodology which can promote the harmonious and sustainable development among human, nature and society. Assessment: midterm paper (30%), final paper (50%), other (20%).
