Course Description: This course addresses some special issues of current interest in the study of human perception and attention. Topics may vary from year to year with a focus on time perception and visual attention. Lectures on historical background and recent research of selected topics are provided. Guest lectures by international scientists on special issues related to current debates are arranged to dovetail with related topics. The participants are expected to get involved actively in class discussions. The purpose of this course is to provide the participants a good grounding in science. It is expected that participants develop independent and autonomous opinions on research questions addressed in the field of perception and attention, and be able to evaluate critically the soundness of their methodology and conclusions. Evaluation: class participation and reaction papers 40%, oral presentation 30%, final essay 30%
