Course Description: This course provides an overview of drastic progress of East Asian economic development by taking different point of views of historical, political, socio-cultural and economics that account for the development. It examines such development in light of the different approaches. Special attention is given to the backgrounds and conditions under which East Asian economies have successfully blended strategies of import-substitution industrialization, export-oriented industrialization, FDI-driven effect and regional economic integration.
