Course Description: This course is an overview of the history of modern urban space in Tokyo. Tokyo's urban space has various aspects and its diversity can be understood through learning its history. The course focuses on the transition of urban spaces, lifestyle changes, technological progress and innovation, and also the changes in communities. A variety of visual materials, such as maps, paintings, photos and videos are introduced throughout the course.
