Course Description: This course introduces international politics and some of the major theories of international relations. It provides intellectual tools to better navigate in the world as broadly informed and critically minded global citizens. The course studies events in the world and critically analyzes world politics; develops an understanding of key theoretical positions in international relations; and assesses the usefulness and limits of international relations theories. Text: INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS THEORIES by Tim Dunne, Mijia Kurki, and Steve Smith. Assessment: class participation (20%), presentations (50%), and final exam (30%).
