Course Description: The main objective is to deepen and expand the knowledge of mathematical statistics. Advanced statistical methods useful for applications in natural and social sciences are covered. Topics include the analysis of variance (ANOVA), simple and multiple liner regression, and analysis of categorical data by means of the Chi-square statistic. Upon completion of the program, students should be able to select appropriate techniques to solve given statistical problems. Text: INTRODUCTION TO PROBABILITY AND STATISTICS by William Mendenhall, Robert J. Beaver, Barbara M. Beaver. Assessment: midterm (45%), final exam (45%), and attendance (10%).
