Course Description: This course introduces Southeast Asia, the complex and dynamic region located between China and India. It emphasizes the importance of geographical, political, economic, social, and cultural context in order to understand complex real-world problems. With insight into these aspects of contemporary Southeast Asia, students apply an interdisciplinary approach to the analysis of challenges faced by the region, such as economic and social inequality, environmental management, food security, and urbanization.
