Course Description: This course explores a range of contemporary environmental issues in Australia and other postcolonial states. By examining case studies regarding the history of the emergence and management of particular environmental issues, the course illuminates different ways of understanding the politics of these issues and how they are managed in the present. Students examine links between the scientific, cultural, economic, and political dimensions of environmental politics and management while considering the forms of knowledge and types of power that construct and mediate people's relationships with their environment.
