Course Description: This course introduces the concepts and skills necessary to successfully commercialize new products and services. Entrepreneurship is not just about starting a business; it is also about identifying good opportunities and then creating, communicating, and capturing value in those opportunities. Many great innovations and business ideas never see their market potential fulfilled because their inventor or developer does not understand market requirements or fails to differentiate the product. This course teaches skills to analyze business opportunities, write a compelling business plan, and present the business plan to an audience of investors, no matter if they are venture capitalists, banks, or friends and family members. To bring the real world into the classroom, guest entrepreneurs come to class and share their experiences with students.
