Course Description:
This course examines Berlin’s history through art and literature. The course explores important historical periods including reunification, the Cold War, World War II, the Weimar Republic, and the Wilhelminian era. Exemplary pieces of art and texts are used to answer relevant questions of the time periods being studied. The course includes excursions related to the three major themes of the course: art, remembrance culture, and literature.
