Course Description:
This course offers a study of financial crises and monetary systems. The course explores topics including the history of money and monetary theory, how monetary systems work, the role of a central bank, the causes of financial crises, Black Swan theory, and financial market reform. Weekly lectures discuss these topics by examining them through the perspectives of contemporary research, political economy, and NGOs. The course consists of lectures, interactive discussions, and in-depth exercises.
