Course Description: This course offers a study of the imaginations and practices of African youth in relation to the future. The courses discusses how young men and women imagine and create the future in diverse countries on the African continent; how they formulate, negotiate, and live their aspirations, anxieties, hopes, and fears; and what temporal experiences and horizons their aspirations are connected to. The course examines these topics by engaging with anthropological theories on youth and future, and ethnographic case studies on youth in the African context.
