Course Description: This course is an introduction to experimental economics, its methods, and some of the major subject areas that have been addressed by laboratory experiments. Instead of reviewing the vast literature, an effort is made to concentrate on the seminal papers and some prominent new results in each topic listed in the course schedule. Beside offering a brief introduction to the experimental method, this course aims at reviewing the experimental literature related to mechanism design. By the end of the course, student will be able to design laboratory experiments in order to answer their own research questions. Assessment: final paper (50%) and class participation (50%).
