Course Description: This is a basic introduction to health and disease. This course focuses on biomedical sciences including public health, normal and disease state physiology, and mechanisms of defense. The course may not to focus about the mechanisms about the diseases, but more on the overview of the diseases. The purpose of this course is to introduce importance of public health programs and overviews of some major diseases, and learn how to improve health and quality of life through prevention and treatment of diseases. Assessment: attendance (10%), class participation (20%), quiz and papers (40%), presentations (30%).
