Course Description: A robot is a system which is composed of mechanisms, actuators, sensors, and a computer system. The robot senses, thinks, and acts as desired by itself based on control algorithms implemented in the computer system. This course introduces basics of modeling and control of a robot. The course provides a brief survey of relevant results from spatial description of a link mechanism, kinematics, inverse kinematics, statics, dynamics, motion control, and compliant motion control.
