Course Description: This course is designed primarily for non-business majors to offer basic knowledge both on international business practices, and the theory behind them. It covers a large area of business practices including exporters and importers. Through discussing such topics as Pricing on Free on Board (FOB) versus Cost, Insurance and Freight (CIF), Four C's (Consumer, Cost, Convenient, Communication), and fixed exchange rate versus floating exchange rate, students gain a basic understanding as to why cross-border business exists. Assessment: quizzes and a final exam (50%) and class participation (50%).
