Course Description: This course presents paternalism in current Japanese society, while examining its historical and cultural background from a sociological point of view. The course teaches the different elements of Japanese society rooted deeply in its cultural and historical contexts. The main focus of the course is placed on examining Japanese style of management“ and how it is adapting and not adapting to economic globalization. Students also analyze how Japanese society adjusts to and/or resists economic globalization.
