Course Description: This course covers fundaments of database theory and provides skills to handle numeric, textual and composite data types including creation of online databases, design of portals and data protection. Database systems are the most widely used software systems in any area of life related to mainly information technology, management, business and web applications. This course is designed to first give an introduction to the fundamental concepts of databases and their design then introduce database operations like updating and searching in database systems. Assessment: two or three midterm assignments (40%), final assignment (60%).
