Course Description:
Against the backdrop of the current developments and the currently disputed European position in the fight for refugee and immigration policy, the course first examines the history of the city of Berlin and its specific immigration history, which still characterizes this city as "multicultural". In addition, the course includes excursions to see related historical sights. The course also focuses on the current social disputes and political positions on immigration issues and the related demands and conflicts in Germany as a whole and discusses them in a European context.
