Course Description: The course provides an understanding of some of the unique health issues confronting women and children in a variety of settings and across cultures. It introduces existing international, regional, and national provisions, conventions, protocols, and instruments on the rights for the health of women and children; discusses the skills needed to identify the lapses in the enforcement of health legislations and conventions for women and children; and presents how to identify and initiate interesting debates about using a human right-based approach to address some of the critical health problems that affect women and children and to design programs to address the deficiencies.
