The course analyzes ideas by philosophers such as Rene Descartes, Maurice Merleau-Ponty, Jean Baudrillard, and Guy Debord; psychoanalysts such as Jacques Lacan; and artists including Gustave Courbet, Marcel Duchamp, Jasper Johns, Andy Warhol, Donald Judd, Bruce Nauman, Martin Kippenberger, and impressionists.
