Course Description: This course investigates the methods of accurately communicating the shape of designed objects with technical drawing systems. Students are introduced to the conventions of engineering drawing with reference to ISO and Australian Standards. Manual drawing methods as well as computer applications are employed in practical exercises and assignments. Some card model making is also included as a means of transfer of information from drawing to making. Students learn isometric and perspective drawing constructions so they have a range of drawing techniques to support their work and further skill development in other courses.
