Course Description: This course provides a broad view of the financial system in Japan and presents, from the financial point of view, how one of the biggest economies in the world has been built. Topics are discussed from various angles such as historical vis-à-vis modern developments, fiscal and monetary policies, banking and other financial markets, conventional financial systems vis-à-vis modern-day FinTech including Crowdfunding and Bitcoin.
