Course Description: The course critically engages with current debates and discourses in the fields of sustainability, vulnerability, and environmental management, including examination of key concepts such as integration, systems-thinking, complexity, equity, risk, resilience, adaptation and mitigation. It investigates approaches and methods for analysing environmental problems and integrating risk reduction, as well as sustainability principles and practices into policy, program, plan, and project cycle processes. Assessment: practical reports (including fieldwork), class tests, and other assignments (50%) and three-hour examination (50%). This course includes lecture, lab, and fieldwork.
