Course Description: Cognitive psychology is a branch of psychology that regards humans as information processing systems and aims to study their functions by using the scientific method of measurement and observation. This course presents how basic human cognitive activities (e.g., perception, memory, learning, language comprehension, attention, etc.) are examined, using both classic research methods and the latest research technology, including functional magnetic resonance brain imaging. Text: COGNITIVE PSYCHOLOGY by RJ Sternberg. Assessment: midterm exam and a final exam (30% each), attendance (20%), and a simple experiment and a report (20%).
