Course Description: This course explores theory and practice in the biological study of animal behavior, specifically ethology and behavioral ecology. Students observe the development, function, and evolution of behavior in an ecological context and examine social behavior. Topics include sensory control systems, foraging behavior, communication, home range, territorial behavior, aggression and dominance, sexual behavior, mate choice, mating systems, and play and social organization.
