Course Description: This course introduces design strategies and techniques for developing alternative points of view and exploring multiple solutions iteratively. Through the analysis of real-world case studies, students use design-thinking methods to tackle complex problems. This course discusses how design can be used as a method and as a way of thinking to drive innovation for products, services, and processes. Students apply design strategies and techniques such as lateral thinking, experiential prototyping, and speculative design through small group exercises. They also develop a deep understanding of these strategies and techniques which capture theory, analytical reflection, and the practical application of methods.
