Course Description: | The course examines the issues, principles, and factors that influence foreign policy decisions, and the various stages, procedures, and mechanics involved. Topics include the nature and scope of foreign policy; key actors in the international system and in foreign policy formulation and execution; determinants of foreign policy such as domestic variables and external factors; the concept of national interest; tools of foreign policy analysis, including propaganda, diplomacy, and foreign aid; and case studies in both United States' foreign policy and Ghana's foreign policy.
