Course Description:
This course offers an introduction to the discipline of philosophy, its authors, its history, its methods, and its arguments. The course explores western philosophers’ reflections on theoretical questions such as what is there, do we really know what we think we know, and how should we act and who should we choose to be? The course examines the major areas of contemporary philosophy and the significant stages of philosophy’s historical development. Students participate in class discussions, write two essays on different topics, and take quizzes and a final exam.
