Course Description: This course explores selected topics in linguistics by using experiments. Its main focus is to test theories related to how language develops in humans, and how humans come to comprehend and produce language. Linguistic skills are used to design experiments that can be used to test linguistic hypotheses. Skills are also used to investigate language related inquiries in an objective, scientific manner. Prerequisite: introduction to linguistics or permission from the instructor. Assessment: participation, regular exercises, final paper.
