Course Description: The course examines financial accounting and explores the role, nature, scope, and limitations of accounting conventions. It explores the regulatory accounting framework, as well as the construction, use, and interpretation of financial statements. It considers group accounting, particularly legal and economic considerations including elements of taxation, and it explores what is being done to extend the scope of financial reporting (e.g., inflation accounting and reporting, approaches to equity maintenance).
