Course Description: This course provides an introduction to Sino-American relations, or the international relations between the United States of America and the People's Republic of China (PRC). It also explores China’s complex relationship with neighboring countries after the establishment of People’s Republic of China. Other topics include China’s pursuit of a foreign policy goal in the context of the Cold War; the new China-Russia-US triangle; and China’s modern relationship with the US after the rise of Asia. Assessment: class participation (20%), paper (30%), final exam (50%).
