Course Description: This course examines social science theories, research, and application related to understanding human behavior in the workplace. Each week focuses on a different topic investigating individual, group, and organizational issues. Weekly topics include motivation, teams, careers, and leadership. When exploring theories of leadership, the course examines power and influence, as well as trait, behavioral, and contingency theories of leadership, alongside the dynamics between leaders and their followers. The course also examines transformational and transactional forms of leadership.
