Course Description: This course is for students who have studied at the advanced level but are required to further improve their proficiency. The goal of this course is to become able to write undergraduate or higher level academic reports and essays of 2,500 characters long. Students learn how to write research papers in Japanese and the writing process. They acquire advanced written expressions and vocabulary, improve their command of Japanese, and develop the ability to think and compose logically. The course also helps students to develop the perspectives and ability to analyze their own writing objectively. Text: DAIGAKU DAIGAKUIN RYUGAKUSEI NO NIHONGO 4 RONBUN SAKUSEIHEN by Academic Japanese Kenkyukai. Assessment: class attendance and class participation: 30%, short composition assignments: 30%, 2,500 character long final paper in Japanese: 40%.
