Course Description: Latin has a long history in Europe (from the time of the Roman empire, to the Renaissance, to its use in Catholic churches) and in the liberal arts. This course teaches how to read a number of songs as well as read excerpts from Cicero. The course also looks at the effects of Latin on its descendants -- the Romance languages.
