Course Description: Using a selection of 20th-century prose extracts and poetry, this course develops methods of reading and analyzing texts to be able to reach some general conclusion about possible interpretations of the text, supported by concrete evidence. Learning goals are to develop skills of reading and analyzing fictional and non-fictional texts, get a better knowledge of the appropriate literary terms, confidently think about literary works, and question the idea of high literature, be able to apply the analyzing tools acquired in the course to other cultural contents, and perform critical analysis of literary and non literary works.
