Course Description: This course provides a detailed analysis of macro and micro dimensions of organizational behavior. It draws on the inter-disciplinary foundations of the theory and practice of organizational behavior in the context of the management of public, private, and third organizations. The course offers an introduction to the range of frameworks on organizational structures, processes, and modes of organizing. Central themes include power and resource dependence, the management of culture and meaning, the role of control, gender, social responsibility, organizational performance, and professional and ethical dimensions of management practice. Topics include organizational design, management environments, organizational learning, managing individuals, motivation, leadership, group and teamwork, decision-making, conflict and negotiations, and organizational change.
