Course Description:
The course covers the historical archaeology of the material culture of Africans living in diaspora all over the world. It provides an analysis of diaspora themes (i.e. colonialism, development, and coping) through the investigation of material objects found throughout the diaspora over generations. The course format is a Socratic seminar with engagement of readings and other materials pertaining to human development and evolution of the diaspora throughout history.
