Course Description: This course examines the production and management of animals used for food and fibre in Australia and internationally. The course focuses on new and emerging issues in animal production, including productivity, welfare, remote monitoring and management, animals in the environment, and meeting specifications in an ever-evolving marketplace. The identification, selection, and breeding of animals that are optimally suited to production systems is a focus. Case studies explore scientific, industrial, and social interactions, and their impact on management practices.
