Course Description: This course prepares students for advanced level courses and further improves their listening, speaking, writing and reading skills necessary for academic life. Students listen and comprehend the main idea of media such as commentary on TV, read about abstract and academic content and understand the background and the structure of the text, conduct conversation and give presentation appropriate to various circumstances. They become able to read about 1150 kanji, produce about 850 kanji, and write well-structured reports and academic essays using appropriate vocabulary and expressions with ease. Text: Original materials prepared by International Christian University Japanese language program. Assessment: attendance, participation, homework assignments, and quizzes (60%), test and final exam (40%).
